Word Study on Evangelist, and Evangelize in the
Greek Septuagint
As we have mentioned elsewhere the words Apostle, Prophet and Evangelist in all their forms are untranslated Greek words
And the notion that has been preached for the last few hundred years that both Christ and Paul the Apostle just kind of made things up as they went along is counter to scripture and counter to their own words of testimony.
For the benefit of those who do not have a copy of the Greek Septuagint, much less a concordance of the Greek Septuagint I have listed the majority of the texts containing the various forms of the words “Evangelist” and “Evangelize”
All text below is KJV except when I note (sept) for a few
particularly jumbled passages
Note also the variance of words they use for translating evangelist and evangelize several times words were chosen for no particular reason – these words should always be translated as Good Tidings or Gospel, Anything else is a translator’s interpretation or a translator’s explanation which have more to do with their denomination’s view or their denomination’s doctrinal stance than with translating words from one language to another.
When you read the texts below now that you know what they are really saying how many more passages in the Gospels and the Epistles can you link know to these verses

Samuel 18:19-20 Then said
Ahimaaz the son of Zadok, Let me now run, and bear the king tidings, how that
the LORD hath avenged him of his enemies. And Joab said unto him, Thou shalt
not bear tidings this day, but thou shalt bear tidings another day:
but this day thou shalt bear no
tidings, because the king's son is dead.

Kings 7:8-10 And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they
went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold,
and raiment, and went and hid it; and came again, and entered into another
tent, and carried thence also, and went and hid it. Then they said one to
another, We do not well: this day is a day of good
tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry
till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come,
that we may go and tell the king's household. So they came and called unto the
porter of the city: and they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the
Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but horses
tied, and asses tied, and the tents as they were.
1
Samuel 31:9
And they cut off his head, and stripped off his armour, and sent into the land
of the Philistines round about, to publish it
in the house of their idols, and among the people.
2
Samuel 1:20
Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in
the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the
daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.

Samuel 4:10 When
one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in
Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his tidings:
2 Samuel 18:19-32 Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok, Let
me now run, and bear the king tidings,
how that the LORD hath avenged him of his enemies. And Joab said unto him, Thou
shalt not bear tidings this day, but thou
shalt bear tidings another day: but this
day thou shalt bear no tidings, because the king's son is dead 21Then said Joab to
Cushi, Go tell the king what thou hast seen. And Cushi bowed himself unto Joab,
and ran. Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok yet again to Joab, But howsoever,
let me, I pray thee, also run after Cushi. And Joab said, Wherefore wilt thou
run, my son, seeing that thou hast no tidings ready? But howsoever, said he, let me run. And he said
unto him, Run. Then Ahimaaz ran by the way of the plain, and overran Cushi. And
David sat between the two gates: and the watchman went up to the roof over the
gate unto the wall, and lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold a man
running alone. And the watchman cried, and told the king. And the king said, If
he be alone, there is tidings in his mouth. And he came apace, and drew near. And the
watchman saw another man running: and the watchman called unto the porter, and
said, Behold another man running alone. And the king said, He also bringeth tidings. And the
watchman said, Me thinketh the running of the foremost is like the running
of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. And the king said, He is a good man, and
cometh with good tidings. And Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king, All is well.
And he fell down to the earth upon his face before the king, and said, Blessed
be the LORD thy God, which hath delivered up the men that lifted up their hand
against my lord the king. And the king said, Is the young man Absalom safe? And
Ahimaaz answered, When Joab sent the king's servant, and me thy servant, I saw
a great tumult, but I knew not what it was. And the king said unto him, Turn
aside, and stand here. And he turned aside, and stood still. And, behold,
Cushi came; and Cushi said, Tidings, my lord the king: for the LORD hath avenged thee this day
of all them that rose up against thee. And the king said unto Cushi, Is the
young man Absalom safe? And Cushi answered, The enemies of my lord the king,
and all that rise against thee to do thee hurt, be as that young man is.
Paul refers to this scripture in
several places – (And most mistakenly preach these passages as referring to the
Greek Olympics.) Hint: run, disqualified, uncertain message

2:32 And
it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall
be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the
remnant whom the LORD shall call.
(Sept) And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call upon
the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall
the saved one be as the Lord has said:
