Present Intervention in the Church.
Seeley D Kinne
“Divine Intervention” takes place when the initiative
passes from man to the Lord, and man enters into a cooperative
relationship with the Lord. During “intervention,”
the Lord is in the lead, and man follows.
“And the twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones
before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God,
saying, We give You thanks, O Lord God, the Almighty,
who are and who were, because You have taken Your
great power and have begun to reign.” Rev 11:16-17 NAS.
On many occasions in the past, “intervention”
was exercised by the Lord, but its fuller workings in the
Church were interrupted by spiritual insensitivity, and the
desire of leadership to be in control. However, in these last
days, the Lord is again beginning to accomplish His purpose
through intervention. Nothing less is adequate for the crises
now at hand.
The Lord’s attitude toward His servants is so loving
and compassionate, that due to the end-time purposes of the
Lord, and the present increase in satanic activity, His hand
is being moved in their behalf. Indeed the heart of the Lord
is yearning over His people.
Therefore, the question that each of us should ask is,
“Am I spiritually in the place where the Lord can
use me, and, can He exercise through me a sufficient
power to accomplish His purpose?”
Exceedingly important is our personal attitude toward the
Lord’s present day intervention, and our ability to
rightly respond.
Although all that the Lord accomplishes by intervention is
a sovereign grant, it is not dispensed without regard to conditions
being met. Deep intense spiritual desire for His Presence,
and for His highest will, along with sacrifice, and a willingness
to suffer, have always marked those who have been mightily
used by the Lord.
Whenever the Lord finds this intense earnestness, He stimulates
and lifts our desires. Our spirit is liberated, and the flame
of faith and devotion mounts higher and higher.
“Intervention” is a transfer from our limitations
into the unlimited. “Come up with Me into the mount,
and be there.” It is the Lord carrying us above the
ordinary, into the extraordinary and miraculous.
“Now unto Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly,
above all that we ask or think, according to the power
that works in us.” Ephesians 3:20.
At this present time, through intervention, there is a sovereign
“lifting” of those with a hearing ear and a willing
spirit, into the Kingdom realm.
In this realm of intervention, the human and the divine flow
together, so that the human becomes absorbed into, and saturated
with the divine. This produces an altogether different class
of Christians from those who are commonly seen. These are
keen in their perception of the Lord’s voice and presence,
and obediently “follow the Lamb whithersoever He goes.”
In order to attain to this Intervention state, many changes
must be wrought in us. As the Lord desires fully responsive
powers and faculties through which to operate, we must make
an effort to develop these within us.
When the power of God comes upon us, the divine purpose may
not be fully accomplished at that time. If we then seem to
be falling short of His expectations, we should not to be
discouraged. As we continue to respond in heart obedience,
a fuller inundation will gradually sweep away every barrier.
Location is limited by expanse of space. Sight is limited
by eye focus. Weight conveyance is limited by strength. Possessions
are limited by financial ability. Knowledge is limited by
learning. Ascent is limited by gravitation. Everywhere we
turn, we faces limitations.
In none of these is God limited. In these days of restoration,
there is an “intervention” invitation to escape
these “limitations” by a transfer into that vast
realm where God operates. Here it can be said, “I can
do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Extensive and varied preparation is necessary for the large
interventions which are essential to this, the great “Day
of the Lord.” In order to accomplish the necessary restoration
of Kingdom authority and function, the Lord will put within
those sufficiently spiritual, a recreating power that will
bring healing, along with the elimination of weaknesses, infirmities,
and imperfections.
This creative power is effective in its action. It needs
but to be yielded to in tender trust, abandonment, and obedience.
It will transform to perfection.
May we make ourselves available to the Lord, as Mary did,
who was totally incapable of birthing Jesus into His redemptive
purpose, until the Holy Spirit, in intervention, came upon
her.
