My
Secret Garden
Gayle Orf ©1999
I have a secret garden
Ever so deep and wide,
Invisible to the eyes of men.
It is there I shall abide.
Work begins in early morn'
When I get down on my knees,
Before the Master who gives to me
His precious living seeds.
He says to me “plant here” or “there,”
And then I place them in
The chosen ground which He's prepared
To let their life begin.
The rains pour down to water them
When I'm nowhere around.
Somehow I know they will bring forth;
They're planted in good ground.
One day the Master will come to reap
From fields all over his land.
He'll give rewards to all his laborers
With His own loving hand.
God's Kingdom is the Secret Garden
Within the hearts of men.
When one believes, the seed conceives,
And Life springs forth again.
