The
Prophet
Christine Pellegrini
On heightened precipice above the valley,
The prophet stands steadfast and secure.
In the place God planted him,
life's windswept trials endured.
He puts the trumpet to his lips,
A call to attention sounds.
The voice of one crying in the wilderness,
Echoes without bounds.
People arise and heed the call,
Rattling bones give way to life.
Quickened hearts with hope rekindled,
Respond in faith, free of strife.
Voices rise to fill the air,
The barren sing a joyous song.
The sound of many waters rushing,
Into God's presence, our spirits joined.
John the Baptist was a single prophetic voice who prepared
the way for the ministry of Jesus. When asked who he was,
he replied that he was “the voice of another.”
Today, there are those who are fully committed to the Lord,
those who have submitted themselves to His work of preparation
so that they, as overcomers, can become the voice of the Lord
in our day.
As John the Baptist prepared the way for the Lord’s
first coming, these will have an end-time prophetic anointing
to prepare the way for our Lord’s return to receive
His Kingdom.
These will move in prophetic authority, as the sound of “many
waters” upon the earth.
