Being
Branded by the Lord
Hattie Hammond
Those of us who are seeking a closer walk with our Lord should
ask ourselves these questions,
1. Have I separated myself from all that I should be separate
from?
2. Have I made every consecration that I should make?
3. Have I fully, unconditionally said, “Yes Lord"?
These are special days of preparation in which we are being
made ready to meet the King.
"From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear
in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus" Gal 6:17.
Moffatt translates it this way,
"From henceforth let no man interfere with me:
for I bear branded on my body the ownership
stamp of the Lord Jesus Christ."
Those who have been “branded” by the Lord, as
being truly His, are but a small company. But we are still
living in the day of opportunity, into which each one of us
may enter with full purpose of heart, to bear in our bodies
the “ownership stamp” of the Lord Jesus Christ.
If I am willing to do this, I am ready to consider one further
question,
4. Has His “brand” been established upon my
life, and have I fully
committed myself to the outworking of His “ownership
stamp” on my life?
Once we have rightly answered these questions, we should
begin to wait on the Lord for His abiding presence to direct
each step that we take.
Then, at the threshold of each new day, we should ask the
Lord what new responsibilities He would have us to experience
as we abide in His presence.
Now we are ready to “press toward the mark for the
prize of the high calling of God,” having an open heaven
above us in which we can look into the face of the Lord and
know that everything is all right between Him and us.
