The
Completion Of His Body
By Everett Allen
Today, as never before, the Lord is sending difficult situations
and trials to teach and perfect us in the way that we should
live and walk. Along with this, spiritual teachers are being
raised us to feed and instruct us, that we might become a
channel through whom the Lord can express His heart toward
mankind.
"That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection,
and the fellowship of His sufferings." Phil 3:10a.
There should be within each of us who are saved an insatiable
desire to intimately know the Lord. As we spend time in His
presence, our spiritual hunger will increase.
"In Him was life; and The Life was the Light of men."
John 1:4.
The Father only recognizes the life that is in Himself and
in Christ, as the reality of life.
"He that has the Son has life; and he that has
not the Son of God has not life." I John 5:12.
We have not always practiced the fact that the Lord is to
be the only source and expression of our lives. When we were
in sin and followed false beliefs, our lives were based upon
Satan's deception and man's values. We must repent and turn
from this to the Lord, that we might receive life from Him
alone. Only then can we worship Him in Spirit and in Truth,
and become the witness He desires us to be.
The Lord's dealings with man has been a long journey, from
Adam's failure to the Lord's ultimate purpose, when the sons
of God will be revealed in the unity of the Body of Christ.
"Because the creature itself also shall be delivered
from the bondage of corruption into the glorious
liberty of the children of God. For we know that
the whole creation groans and travails in pain
together until now." Rom 8:21-22.
It is possible to accept all that Jesus accomplished for
us upon the cross, without accepting Him as our life. We tend
to see the Lord's purpose as being all the wonderful things
that He will do for us, without realizing that the road which
leads through the cross to Him is a narrow way.
We will only find lasting peace and fulfillment as we enter
into a personal relationship with the Lord. We cannot find
this through something we learn or do; but only by discovering
that we were created to receive this satisfaction through
our communion with Him alone.
We are in the final time of harvest; both of good and of
evil. Those who experientially know the Lord will reach their
greatest perfection in the coming Holy Spirit visitation.
This will establish us in our place within the unified Body
of Christ under the full control of the Head, the Lord Jesus
Christ.
Sin will reach its greatest manifestation in those who reject
the Lord. It will become as a deep pit, into which they will
be led to their destruction through tribulation.
The world is trying to solve its problems apart from the
Lord. But we know that Christ is the way, and that His life
is the only answer.
