Essential
Preparation In The Church
By Seeley D. Kinne
The Church in these latter days is to be an important factor
in the closing of this age. In her must be found those who
speak the word of the Lord in power and authority.
For such servants of the Lord to come forth, there must be
a school of the Spirit in which those who willingly submit
to this time of preparation are trained to function in the
power of the Holy Spirit. Such a school is brought into being
as the Church functions in the Spirit and power of the gifts,
as set forth in Corinthians.
The ancient servants, who affected the world of their day
through the word of the Lord, were schooled, trained, and
disciplined by the mighty hand of the Lord resting upon them.
So also, the Lord is disciplining His servants today, and
has a school to which they are to submit for training.
The transformation which brings a person up out of the natural,
and makes him to be a spiritual vessel, is a very great change.
This can be accomplished only through the operation and moving
of the Spirit, and by much prayer and waiting upon the Lord.
"Now concerning spirituals brethren, I would not
have you ignorant." I Cor 12:1.
There have been few, in any generation, who choose to abide
the day of His coming upon them, in order to complete the
spiritual circumcision so essential. Therefore, those who
are the called of the Lord to a latter day ministry, must
be repentant, sensitive, and obedient to the presence and
moving of the Spirit, that they might be prepared for the
Lord's use in the mighty work that must soon be brought forth.
Those who are spiritual are beginning to feel the seriousness
and the gravity of the present situation. For, at this present
time, all nature is being convulsed, and all men dealt with
and shaken. A revolution from the God of Heaven is about to
visit the entire world.
Therefore, it is urgent that we be prepared for His end-time
intervention, which soon will come forth. We must let His
word search our being, until it goes down between the joints
and the marrow of the bones. It must enter every crevice of
our being, that we may be prepared for the closing out of
this age.
There is a present call from the Lord that is going forth
to those who are willing to present their bodies as a living
sacrifice. Who will hear and heed? To the carnal man the sacrifice
may seem great. But to those who have spiritual perception,
it is an escaping from the present threatening judgment, and
gaining the eternal prize of the high calling.
This is the glory. This is the time of preparation. This
is the sacrifice with which the Lord is well pleased.
"He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit
is saying to the Churches." Rev 3:22.
