A Higher Call
Wade E Taylor
"And after six days Jesus took Peter, James,
and John his brother, and brought them up
into a high mountain apart. And He was
transfigured before them. And His face shone
as the sun, and His clothing was white as
the light"
"And behold, there appeared to them Moses
and Elijah talking with Him" Matt 17:1-3.
There were twelve disciples. Jesus took those who were the
closest to Him, Peter, James, and John, up into a higher realm
of understanding and vision. All this took place "after
six days." This is prophetic of our day, as we are approaching
the end of the sixth day in God's program.
Psalm 87:2 tells us,
"The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all
the dwellings of Jacob."
He singles out those who choose to be close to Him, and then
calls them to a higher realm of revelation.
In the message to the last of the seven churches in Revelation,
Jesus is standing at this door (gate) knocking, because He
is so desirous for a people to enter into His presence.
In the midst of the present time of outpouring and blessing,
Jesus is yet standing at this gate (Zion), seeking to divert
those "who have an ear to hear" to come up apart
to Him.
Are you listening for His voice? Will you enter this gate
and ascend the mount with Him? He has much to say concerning
the times that are before us.
