The Will of God
Pauline Gustafson
We are to choose the will of God, nothing more, nothing less.
Sight unseen, no options, no guarantees; just the will of
God, whatever it may be. This may mean taking God's side against
ourselves, such as being content to take the lowest place,
or silently letting another be credited with our success.
We can trust Him, and place all that is before us in His control.
Jesus said, "I delight to do Thy will, O My God."
He knew the price He would pay, but He also knew the value
of the treasure to be gained; even our souls. So He chose
the Father's will, and all earth and heaven became richer
through His selfless choice.
The will of God knows no distinction of time, matter, or
space. It is not conditional upon our circumstances or comfort,
but once embraced, the will of God brings us into high and
broad spiritual pastures.
The soul is fed, restored; our head is anointed with oil;
our heart, quieted. Nothing to gain, nothing to lose, only
the sweetness of abiding with Jesus in the center of His perfect
will.
Lord Jesus, my heart rests in Your choices for me. My knowing
that You know my future brings peace to me. There is nothing
more to be desired, "I choose Your will."
