The Call to Worship
Alma Perry
"Thus says the Lord ... Call to me, and I will
answer you, and show you great and mighty
things, which you do not know" Jer 33:2-3 NKJ.
"In the year that King Uzziah died I saw also the
Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up,
and His train filled the temple. Above it stood
the seraphim ... And one cried unto another, and
said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: The
whole earth is full of His glory. And the post
of the door moved at the voice of him that cried,
and the house was filled with smoke" Isa 6:1-4.
The Lord promises us that He will answer those who "call"
to Him and shew them great and mighty things.
The Hebrew word for call is "QUARA." It is the
same word as "CRIED" in Isaiah 6:3. These two words
speak of "worship."
As our "call" to the Lord becomes "worship"
rather than petition, it will be lifted from our natural expression
and ascend into the realm of the Spirit. As it reaches the
Throne, the heavens will open (the post of the door moves)
and a spontaneous visitation of the Holy Spirit will be released,
which will bring us into a prophetic anointing and flow.
Through our worship, we elicit a specific response from the
Throne. The post of the door will move, bringing to us a revelation
and visitation of the Glory of the Lord, as revealed Isaiah
6:4.
As we continue to worship in the presence of His revealed
glory, we will begin to understand in a deeper, fuller way,
the holiness of our God, His Kingship over all, and His present
desire for us.
The promise of the Lord (Jer 33:3) is that He will reveal
great and mighty (hidden) things to those who will worship
Him as they continually acknowledge and respond to His majesty,
His power, and His love.
It is important that we become one of these who worship before
His Throne.
