This school year has been exceptional. There is an evident
spiritual growth and change that is touching each of our lives.
Hearing things that many of the students are saying reveals
this. There is a "narrowing" and an "enlarging"
that is taking place at the same time.
John the Baptist said, "He that hath the Bride is the
Bridegroom: but the friend of the Bridegroom, which standeth
and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the Bridegroom’s
voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled" John3:29-30.
There is in our midst an evident hunger for a closer relationship
with our Lord Jesus Christ. The ministry in the school this
year has helped both to create this hunger and to feed it.
Now, "It is God who gives the increase."
The "Out Station Ministry" has become more active
over the past years: groups of students go to Churches who
invite them for weekend meetings. There is an increasing sense
of purpose, as groups go out nearly every weekend. Much of
this ministry is in other States. This is a part of the students
being prepared for life and for ministry, and becomes a blessing
and encouragement to all involved.
Thank you for your response to the Pinecrest/Howard B. Adkins
Memorial Scholarship Fund mentioned in the last Banner. This
will provide an on-going help to needy students
A large number attended the Easter Convention. Many came
great distances. The speakers were; Charles Haun, a Bible
teacher to the Body of Christ who is teaching in the Bible
School this quarter; Bill Pepper from Alaska, who is also
teaching here this quarter; Stephen Bostrom, a Pastor for
the past 20 years in Mexico; and Wade Taylor.
We were encouraged to "press on" towards a fuller
relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, and to take up our
cross and follow Him. The message from Isaiah6 was very meaningful
in the light of present world tensions. "In the year
that King Uzziah died, I saw also the Lord sitting upon a
Throne, high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple."
Each convention service was truly a blessed time.
During the school year, there are four 9 week terms in the
Bible School. In July, there are four 1 week terms. This is
an excellent opportunity to spend time alone with the Lord,
and to attend very good classes as well. Some come for all
4 weeks, and others for 1 or 2 weeks. Many families use this
as their vacation time. There are classes and activities for
all ages. We hope to see you this summer.
Our prayer is that you may be strengthened, as you expectantly
look to Him. It is our desire that the Banner, and the School,
will be used of the Lord to help you in this. God Bless You.
