The 1992 Bible School Graduation has just passed. Reflecting
over this past school year truly reveals that our Lord has
been faithful to feed, impart, encourage, and correct us throughout
this school year.
Through the entire school year, there was a very special
sense of the Lord being present to change lives. There was
an evident working of the Lord within lives, beyond anything
we had seen in former years. The average age of the present
students is older. Many are retired and desire to serve the
Lord in some capacity during their latter years, and are very
serious in preparing themselves for this purpose.
The Lord is making HIMSELF known by His presence revealed
in the school program and in lives. It is exciting to be a
part of all He is doing. Though Pinecrest is a school with
classes and instruction, we are foremost "A School of
the Holy Spirit," desiring His presence and His moving
in our midst. At times, especially in Chapel, we could "feel"
the heart of the Lord seeking after His people, desiring the
fellowship and communion that would allow Him to make Himself
known, as well as His power to keep us.
The following is taken from an article written by a graduate
for the graduation bulletin. "Except the Lord build the
house, they labour in vain that build it" Psalm 127:1a.
"If we build God a house of devotion, He will build us
a house of ministry. Yet even during that ministry, we are
to continue building this house of devotion. If we attempt
building anything other than a house of devotion, we will
find something other than God's best."
This has been the emphasis in our Chapels and classes throughout
this past school year. Lives were changed in a very noticeable
way and prepared for His purposes. The graduates have scattered
into many fields to be sown, that a rich harvest might come
forth.
During this past school year, several pastors came to teach
classes for a school term. These pastors have successful ministries
and are able to impart something special into the lives of
each one here. This Fall, some additional pastors have agreed
to come and teach.
The graduation speaker was John Slye, a pastor from Washington
DC who challenged the graduates to continue pressing on in
all they had received. He encouraged them to maintain the
excellence of spirit they had gained while students at Pinecrest.
He stayed for the Memorial Day Weekend Convention and brought
forth a rich word.
Again this summer, the Former Student Reunion was a tremendous
success. We were filled to capacity. It is always a blessing
to see those who attended the Bible School return to share
their lives, and all the Lord is presently doing for them.
It is a very special time, as past friendships are renewed
and experiences shared. One of the blessings of attending
the Bible School at Pinecrest is these lasting friendships
that are formed.
This issue of the Banner is being printed and mailed during
the summer Bible School Term. There are four, 9 week terms
during the School Year. During the month of July, there are
four, 1 week terms of Bible school. If you have not attended
one, or all of these 4 Summer Terms, you are missing a very
special opportunity to be a Bible School student.
Your continue interest in the Ministry of the Bible School
is desired and greatly appreciated.
