The
end of the school year is at hand. It has gone by all too
quickly. These months since the last Banner have not been
easy; there has been a seriousness in our seeking the Lord
as He works deeply within our lives. This has been a very
profitable time in the development of spirituality and ministries
within us.
George Warnock and his wife, from British Columbia, were
here for three weeks speaking in morning and evening Chapel
services. His many years of a close walk with the Lord were
clearly reflected through his ministry. An openness towards
the Lord was created within our spirits as a result of the
heavy anointing that is upon him. We all received afresh insight
into the person and purpose of our Lord.
We have been greatly blessed with much good ministry this
school year, both from pastors who came to teach, and visiting
ministry from many parts of the country, and world. We are
grateful to these for their caring and giving, which has strengthened
and inspired us to follow onto "Know the Lord."
This is the heart of what each has emphasized. And, that
"Knowing Him" is dependent upon relationship, which
is cultivated through time spent in His presence. The result
of all this is an evident change within us.
I am reminded of a song, "There was a time O Lord, my
heart did not keep pace. I followed thee afar, I did not seek
thy face. Your nature was to me a hidden mystery, until I
caught a glimpse - within the veil."
A student recently shared in Chapel about "flexibility."
Brother Taylor followed by saying: "There is a name for
flexibility, it is called "Wisdom." Much knowledge
will destroy, but a little wisdom will accomplish much. Knowledge
is information and facts. Wisdom is the right application
of these facts. It is important for us to be flexible in the
Lord through the wisdom He provides." "If any of
you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men
liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him"
James 1:5.
In the days ahead at Pinecrest is; the Memorial Day Convention
in May; the Former Student Reunion in June; the July 4th convention
and 4 weeks of Summer Vacation Bible School in July, and the
Youth week in August. There is an unusual expression of interest
in all these.
If you have a desire to be a part of any of these, we are
praying that the provision of time and means will be made
for you to come to Pinecrest during these times.
May you be strengthened in mind, heart, and spirit, to continue
to follow on to "Know the Lord."
