Bobbi Adkins, Pinecrest Staff
There is an air of excitement and expectancy here at Pinecrest,
as we daily respond to all the Lord is doing, and anticipate
all that He will yet do. The Lord has never disappointed us,
as He has sovereignly moved, transforming lives and then using
these very lives for His glory.
This school year, we are sensing an increase in the abiding
manifest presence of the Lord, and a precious moving of the
Holy Spirit in our Chapel services and classes. We are trusting
Him that the unity we are experiencing will continue to develop
into that corporate atmosphere by which all things are possible
through Him.
We are blessed each year with graduates, pastors, and missionaries,
who come for a visit to share their experiences in the field.
We are witnessing the heart of a pastor being birthed within
many students. Along with this, there is an increase in ministry
opportunities for our graduates.
The Lord is speaking "missions" through Pastor
Jay Francis, who is teaching this year, stirring the students
toward missions. Brother Wade Taylor will be going with a
group of students to a missions conference this month. There
are missionary trips planned this school year for students
to go to Jamaica and Guyana, South America.
We have received requests for news of what takes place here
in the Bible School. We have come to see that many of the
people who visit Pinecrest have been joined with us in spirit,
and have the same desire to see the fulfillment of God's purposes
here. These care, and have an interest in the Bible School
and in the people who make up the staff and faculty. This
is a great encouragement to all of us here.
In each Banner, I will share with you things which I trust
will edify and encourage you, as well as inform you about
the vision and ministry of Pinecrest. The Bible School offers
a two-year basic Bible training course. Following this is
a one-year course in which the things learned within the first
two years are made a part of the experience and vision of
the student.
The students range in ages from recent high school graduates
to grandparents; both single, and married students with children.
The Lord brings students to Pinecrest from all over the United
States, many foreign countries. We are blessed this year with
a young man who recently came to the States from Russia.
Recently Brother Taylor felt impressed of the Lord, that
those who receive the Banner, or attend the Conferences at
Pinecrest from time to time, are to be invited to visit Pinecrest
during the school year. There are guest rooms available for
this purpose. You are welcome to come for a day, a week, or
as long as the Lord enables to attend the Chapel services
and Bible school classes. The afternoons are free, to quietly
wait on the Lord, to fellowship, or to enjoy the beautiful
scenery in this area.
The Lord has indicated to us that more and more visitors
would be coming, not just during Conventions and special meetings,
but during the school year also. Already, this has begun to
happen. The last two weeks of the Summer Session and the following
Youth Week were exceptional. There were many new people here
for the first time. Each week since school began, many have
come to Pinecrest, some for one or two days; others for longer
periods.
As I wrote this, I became very aware of the fact that the
Lord has been unusually active among us over the Summer months,
and has begun to open His heart in a more manifest way to
His people, in recent months. We were given a special gift
from the Lord this summer by seeing the large number of people
who came, and had a significant meeting with the Lord. There
were so many evidences of faithfulness on the part of the
staff and the summer workers that the long hours and days
were more rewarding than depleting.
The Lord has blessed Pinecrest with a dedicated staff. Brother
and Sister Taylor were at Pinecrest all summer and will be
here during all of the school year. Howard Adkins works in
the business office. His wife, Bobbi is the receptionist at
the front desk. Willard & Edna Beesley work in the Print
Shop and are responsible for printing and mailing the Banner.
Lee Boyd manages the Maintenance Department. Bruce Caisse
teaches in the Bible School and helps in the Print Shop. Jay
Francis (a pastor from Berne, NY) is teaching classes three
days a week. Richard Forde, a medical doctor, and his wife,
Joan are both teaching. Jean Laughner is head of the housekeeping
department. Wayne Littlefield works in the Business office
and in the print shop. Jennifer McPherson, a recent graduate,
is our new bookkeeper. Toni Jean Minuto is in charge of the
kitchen. Ken Moore has recently taken charge of all purchases
and is making headway in cutting expenses in all departments.
Jack and Joanne Picataggi are both teaching. Roberta Wilbur
is the Registrar. Her husband, Steve travels in full time
ministry. Tom Worth teaches, and is Pastor of the Pinecrest
Bible Church. His wife, Marsha is in charge of the children's
ministry. There is a sincere desire within the entire staff
to faithfully serve the Lord, and to be a blessing to His
people.
The heart of the vision of Pinecrest is to lift up our Lord
Jesus Christ that all may be drawn to Him, and come to personally
know Him. There is a great truth that is still valid: our
very lives become a ministry when we are joined with the heart
and purpose of the Lord. We are thankful that He has chosen
Pinecrest to be one of the places where many can be prepared
to become a habitation for the Lord.
Please pray for the Bible School, and for the ministry of
the Banner. It is my desire that both will be under the rule
and reign of our Lord Jesus Christ and bring glory to His
Name. It is our desire that the Lord will be pleased to abide
among us here at Pinecrest.
There is a sincere desire in our hearts, which the Lord is
increasing, to be a blessing to the Lord's people. There is
within the entire staff, a daily appreciation for the way
so many express their care and love for Pinecrest through
their letters, visits, offerings, and their prayers. May each
of you be strengthened by the presence of the Lord, both now
and in the days ahead.
We encourage you to visit Pinecrest as often as possible.
