Dear Banner Family,
To "Live in the Spirit" (Gal 5:25) speaks of our
"state of being" that results from the act of Justification
which we freely received when we accepted Jesus as our personal
Saviour. We have been translated out of the kingdom of darkness,
and are spiritually alive.
To "Walk in the Spirit" speaks of the fact that
this new found "life in the Spirit" affects and
alters my pattern of daily life. I no longer live as I once
did. "Walking in the Spirit" means that the Lord
has become the center of my life, and I seek to please Him
in all that I do and say. As I continue to "walk in the
spirit" in every aspect of my daily life experience,
I am becoming pure before Him. "And every man that hath
this hope in Him purifieth himself, even as He is pure"
I John 3:3.
Past visitations experienced a fresh touch of "Life
in the Spirit" along with the resultant blessings and
gifts but failed to press on to "Walk in the Spirit."
Because lives were not inwardly changed as to holiness of
character and walk, these visitations gradually faded away.
The Lord is doing a present work of chastisement within
His people to bring about the necessary correction so He will
be able to draw those who earnestly seek Him into a full expression
of "Walking in the Spirit." This will result in
a restoration of confidence in the Christian witness to the
world.
It is my prayer that the messages within the Banner will
clearly present the urgent need to come into this experience
of "Walking in the Spirit." Your prayer and financial
support will be greatly appreciated that this message may
continue to go forth to those who are seeking something more
from the Lord than they are presently experiencing.
May our Lord grant to you, as you read this Banner "The
eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may
know what is the hope of His calling," and what the riches
of His inheritance in the saints" Eph 1:18.
I appreciate and answer each letter that I receive. Please
continue to write. Thank you for you prayers and support.
Both are needed.
