Spring
1985
Dear Friends,
As I traveled toward the city of Philadelphia on July 4th,
1959 to look for a place to live and to pioneer a Church,
the Lord spoke to me that I was to turn around, go north and
attend a conference at Pinecrest.
Pinecrest had been purchased by the Italian branch of the
Assemblies of God to be used as a Conference Center and as
a Bible College.
I arrived late in the evening and after getting settled,
found an empty classroom and began to seek the Lord as to
His reason for sending me to Pinecrest. As I prayed, the Lord
caused me to know that He would allow me to go to Philadelphia
and pastor a Church there, but that His will was for me to
enroll in Pinecrest Bible Institute as a student.
I accepted this direction from the Lord and moved to Pinecrest
in August of 1959 and enrolled as a student in the new school
that was to open that fall.
In October of that year, while alone praying, I was caught
up into the glory of the Lord. My eyes were opened spiritually
and I saw His visible Glory. He spoke to me out of this Glory,
causing me to understand that He had brought me here to train
a people to intimately know Him, to experience His manifest
presence, and the moving of His Spirit.
At first, I thought this would be accomplished in the school
that was there at that time. However, after three years of
operation, the school closed and the property was left vacant.
Six year later, in a very direct and unusual way, the Lord
caused me to return to Pinecrest and the word that I had received
back in 1959 started to become a reality.
Pinecrest Bible Training Center opened in the fall of 1968
with a deep sense of the Word that the Lord had given concerning
His purpose for Pinecrest. During the 17 years that we have
been here, students have come from every area of the United
States and from many different countries to prepare their
lives for His calling and purpose. We have seen the Lord profoundly
change lives and impart ministries as we abide in His presence
and anointing. Upon completion of their training, these have
gone out with a vision and ministry according to the pattern
that the Lord has given.
We covet your prayerful support that Pinecrest may continue
to accomplish that which our Lord desired when He spoke forth
the word that changed the direction of my life and brought
all this into being.
May our Lord richly bless you for your part in this ministry.
