He is Made Unto Us
Dino Vail
“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made
unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and
redemption.” I Corinthians 1:30
“For it pleased the Father that in Him (Jesus) should
all fullness dwell.” Colossians 1:19
“In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
For in Him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead
bodily. And ye are complete in Him.” Colossians 2:3,
9, 10
“Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all
wisdom.” Colossians 3:16
“For all things are yours.” I Corinthians 3:21
The Word, Jesus Christ Himself, abides within each of His
own. Envision, if you are capable, the storehouse of His treasures
accompanying Him: all He and His treasures, dwelling within
us. It is beyond comprehension: the Lord of Glory and all
that He is taking up residence within His own. He, the Word
of God, who resides within us, has many names which are connected
with His Word. Here are a few: Word of Life, Word of Faith,
Word of Healing Word of Knowledge, Word of Prophecy, Word
of Truth, Word of the Lord, Word of Wisdom, The Overcoming
Word, The Word of Power, The Living Word, A Sure Word, and
Water of the Word. He is all of these and more, for all fullness
does dwell in Him, and He dwells in us.
Some might ask, “How do we find Him and His attributes?”
This is His answer: “Draw nigh unto Me, and I will draw
nigh unto you.” How do we draw near to Him? “Enter
His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise.”
Our walk is progressive. He is made unto us salvation, deliverance,
righteousness, sanctification, faith, wisdom, joy, strength,
patience, love, healing, peace, rest and finally, resurrection.
These are merely things to some. However, they are Jesus Christ
Himself. And to know Him is to have and experience eternal
life.
He proclaimed, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.”
He, in contradiction to all others, is the only way, all truth
and eternal life. To think that He has expressed His desire
to become this to us!
Again, He said, “I am the Bread of Heaven.” Has
He become bread to us? He is the Light of the World, not just
a light to shine on our pathway. Has He become to us all light?
Or do we trust in another source? It may be someone else who
is a godly teacher or friend. True, they have the light of
Christ within, but as they reflect the light through their
personalities, the rays of light become refracted, or perhaps
diffused. Go to the only source of light—Jesus Christ
our Lord.
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not
be afraid: the Lord Jehovah is become my salvation. Therefore
with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation”
(Isaiah 12:2, 3). How positive is God’s Word. All that
we shall ever need is in His well of salvation. He is the
Living Water. Has He become unto us the fountain of living
water springing up within, one from which we may draw the
water of life freely at any given moment?
He is all light. He is the sun of righteousness with healing
in His wings. He is able to appear to each of His own individually
and simultaneously, and at the same moment be all to each
one. As the sun is all things to all people, so the Son desires
to become all things to all of His own. Does not the fullness
of the Godhead dwell in Him? Yet, even as a cloud darkens
the sun, so may clouds darken our spiritual skies and prevent
the son from being all things to us. He has, however, made
a provision for this by giving us His Spirit to keep our spiritual
skies clear.
He is your Saviour, but has He become your salvation? You
might ask, “Is there a difference?” Yes. Many,
many are at the same place that they were when they were first
converted. There has been little or no growth. He has not
become to them their continuing salvation.
Has He given you wisdom for a particular situation in the
past? Good. But has he now become your wisdom? Or one step
further, has He become all your wisdom?
Most of us know Him as our healer, but how many of us know
Him as our healing in all areas of our spirit, soul and body?
This in itself is not the end. It is to be a continuing healing
until He brings us into, or becomes to us divine health.
What is He to you this day? This moment? There is still more.
All of our springs and sources must be in Him.
We, being but clay, forget that He dwells within. Conceivably
after a short time, we will grow weary of hearing ourselves
say, “Lord send me healing, deliverance, wisdom, faith,”
or whatever it is that we want, and find ourselves silent.
Then perhaps He will be able to get our attention long enough
to say, “I have been with you and in you all of this
time. Are you now ready to listen to me? Can you not believe,
confess, and receive Me as your ALL? For that is what I want
to be.” Possibly then many of us, even as Martha, will
say, “Yes, Lord, I know that in that day you will be
my . . .” Just then He will interrupt and say, “My
Lamb, I am.” Then we will now that He is.
Lord, be unto us salvation, justification, redemption, sanctification,
righteousness, healing, peace, joy, strength, faith, patience,
holiness, love and life. Lord, we know that you desire to
be all to us that You are. Lord, be all of yourself to Your
own.
