Dear Reader
W ade Taylor
A verse of scripture that contains deep irony has fascinated
me for years with the thought it projects. In Luke 3:2 is
given a profound statement concerning the spiritual condition
of Israel and the Lord’s method of response to it: “Annas
and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came
unto John the son of Zacharais in the wilderness.”
Here in simple expression is set forth a religious system
functioning – a high priesthood doubly established with
the synagogue, relating to the religious life of that day.
All this was established and blessed by the Lord through Moses.
Yet, the Lord chose to bypass the entire system and spoke
to a man “in the wilderness”—apart and separate
from all that seemingly related to what was of God in that
day. John the Baptist became a point of transition from one
age into a new one.
Today, we are seeing the fall of the Charismatic Movement.
The Lord has brought a remnant out and these are looking for
a voice of expression concerning a new day and visitation.
The generation of religious orders in Jesus’ day missed.
I pray and trust there will be a people in our day who having
ears to hear will hear.
I greatly desire The Banner to be a voice leading toward
producing a hearing hear and an understanding heart—to
prepare a people to respond to the Lord. There are many voices,
yet John the Baptist was a unique singular voice. In our day
it may not come through a person, but the message will be
singular and will involve repentance and righteousness. Our
lifestyle will be judged. The Lord will have a people!
Pray with us that we may be faithful in the vision and need
in our time.
There is an urgent need for those who will stand with us
in prayer and financial support that this ministry may continue.
New equipment is needed for printing. Please consider regular
support of this ministry. It is needed and will be deeply
appreciated.
May our Lord bless you as you continue to seek to know and
serve Him better.
