The Rose of Sharon
Emma Womble
Come away with me into the secret chamber. I want to whisper
in your ear and tell you, “I am the Rose of Sharon.”
Listen. I have been your Salvation; you are finding My sacrifice
complete. I have been your Healer and Physician and they have
never failed you in any hour of need. I am your Shepherd and
have led you in green pastures, and beside the still waters,
as you listened to My voice and followed at My call.
I have been your Comfort in sorrow and distress. I have held
you in My mighty and everlasting arms. My rod and staff have
comforted you. But I want to be more to you. I want to be
the Rose of Sharon. I want My fragrance to fill your being,
each petal worked out in your life.
The Petal of Divine Love. Oh how it is needed in the lives
of mine own in these days. Hearts are so weary, they are fainting
by the wayside for lack of a kindly hand to help them along
life’s pilgrim journey and tell them that Jesus cares.
The Petal of Divine Compassion. It only grows beside the
Petal of Love. So many turn a deaf ear to those in distress,
to those who have failed to measure up and fallen by the wayside.
I want you to go to them, and tell them of My love that never
changes. My hand of mercy is stretched out still. I died for
them. Take heed that you do not fail.
I want you to get beneath their burden and tell them as I
have told you that Jesus has never failed in any hour of need.
I want you to bind up their wounds and broken hearts. Set
the captive free. Give them the oil of joy for mourning and
show them as I have shown you that I give beauty for ashes
even here and now. Yes, that is why I have been training you
by the Spirit in the School of Trial.
Remember the Rose is more fragrant when crushed; it gives
forth its sweetest odors. So as you go forth with the garment
of Roses, made from the crushed petal of the rose, others
lives will catch the fragrance. The weary will once more place
their hand in Mine; they will lift up their heads and rejoice
and look to the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the
world. They will be willing to stay in the garden with Jesus
and cry, “Thy will, O God, be done.”
They will also go forth to pour out their lives for others;
a living sacrifice, a whole burnt offering.
The Frankincense and the Myrrh from the garden of suffering
will bless all who come in contact with them, and the sweet
savor will rise to the Father as an evening sacrifice.
And we too shall rejoice, because the love of God is shed
abroad in our hearts.
