The Eyes of the Lord
Run To and Fro

God is searching for—and truly will have—a people
through whom He can reveal Himself and His glory. In 2 Chronicles
16:9 it is written, “For the eyes of the Lord run to
and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong
in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.’’
The people God is calling unto Himself in this hour are those
that desire nothing less than the fullness of God, those that
will seek to know Him with their whole heart, being, and desire.
When Judah in 2 Chronicles 15:15 had sworn with all their
heart, and sought God with their whole desire—God was
not only found of them, but gave them rest around about.
God desires to reveal Himself to His people and to bring
them into a relationship of peace and rest as they move and
live daily in Him. However, to come into such a walk with
God means the daily death of one’s own desires and goals
and a single eye commitment towards God and a desire to do
that which is pleasing unto Him. As one begins to turn over
the throne rights of his life to Jesus Christ, then He, through
the Holy Spirit, will begin to uproot and bring down those
strong holds in one’s life such as pride and rebellion
which prevent God from having His complete expression through
that person. And, like the battle of Jericho, God knows how
to arrange the right circumstances and conditions to bring
down the walled up problems in one’s life—not
only exposing the problems, but also bringing a victory in
those areas that have kept one from the relationship He desires
to have with His people.
One thing that one must always remember as he gives God full
control of his life is that he does not know, nor can he conceive,
what God has prepared for those who love Him. One must believe
in his heart that God can create a nature and character in
that person far greater than he ever could himself. If a person
truly believes this, then no matter what circumstances or
conditions God places on one’s life, he can walk through
with a resident peace and joy. Though it may seem extremely
difficult, there is a knowing that His grace is sufficient
for him and that He is causing His image, His nature, to be
worked out so that more of Himself might be revealed to that
person and through that person. Paul said in Romans 8:18,
“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time
are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be
revealed in us.” One must go through dealings, preparations
and trials before he can begin to know Jesus Christ in greater
depths and become a partaker of His divine nature.
One tremendous thing about God is that through the worst
of trials, where it seems as though He has placed us in a
corner with no way out, it is in these that a person can know
Christ in measures and ways never possible without them. It
was only in the fire that Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego met
the Son of God! So if one really desires to know God and delights
in Him as their Lord, then that person can truly rejoice daily
knowing that Christ is making all things to work out for the
good for him—and the good is that one is learning to
know Him in greater depths and from this is being changed
more into His image and likeness.
God is looking for such a people because through them, He
can reveal Himself to the rest of the world. In Daniel 11:32b,
it is written, “The people that do know their God shall
be strong and do exploits.” God wants to reveal Himself
but few there be that are willing to forsake their own desires
and delight in doing that which God desires. God is looking
for a people that will “follow the lamb withersoever
he goeth” and that will covenant with Him as Ruth did
with Naomi that “Wither thou goest, I will go and where
thou lodgest I will lodge; they people shall be my people
and thy God my God and where thy diest, will I die.”
Let us be a people that the eyes of God will find and be pleased
and through whom He can reveal Himself to the world!
